From Mrauk U – Most visitors travel down river by private boat (6-7 hours, K100,000) orpublic ferry. The private boats are converted fishing boats that are usually well kitted out with covered areas, a table, refreshements, western toilet and lifebuoys.

There is a fast ferry once a week (K20,000), which leaves Mrauk U on Thursdays at 7am, arriving in Sittwe at 11am.
