To Mandalay – The slow boat runs up to three times per week, and takes 2-3 days. Tickets for a cabin are $54; deck tickets are $12. Alternatively, you can take a boat to Katha and then change onto the fast boat, bus or train from there.

To Katha– The government (slow) ferry leaves runs on the same schedule as above; deck tickets are $5. There is also a more expensive fast ferry option.

To Myitkyina – Boats run, but access can be restricted in the dry season due to low water levels, and the security situation in parts of Kachin State means that access can be difficult for foreigners.
