Air

Flights arrive at Heho airport, 65km south east of Pindaya. The journey from Heho to Pindaya takes around three hours by taxi and costs K65,000; you may be able to save money by booking your taxi in advance through your hotel.

There is a currency exchange and Visa and Mastercard ATM facilities at the airport, although they are not always open or functioning. If you find yourself waiting for a flight, there are a number of simple restaurants just to the north of the terminal building.

Most people take in Pindaya on trips which also include Kalaw and Inle Lake.

Bus

The closest town to Pindaya that has bus connections around Myanmar is Kalaw, from where Pindaya can be visited on a day trip. A minibus (K35,000 one way) or tuk tuk (K25,000 one way) will take around 2 hours to get from Kalaw to Pindaya.

There is a $2 entry fee for the Pindaya area (which is separate to the Pindaya caves entry fee).

From Hsipaw – The bus journey to Kalaw takes around 13 hours and tickets cost K13,000.
