Trains leave Thazi in the early morning for Kalaw (6.5 hours) and Shwenyaung Junction (for Inle Lake) (10 hours); Upper Class tickets cost K3,000.

There are also regular daily trains to Yangon (12 hours), Mandalay (3 hours), Taungoo (6 hours) and Nay Pyi Taw (3 hours).
