Hotels
Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Mandalay offer an increasing amount of accommodation choice for business travellers, including a significant number of luxury hotels with modern facilities – including gyms, swimming pools, wifi and 24-hour electricity. However, capacity issues remain in Yangon; it is essential to book in advance, particularly during the high season from November to February. Also, due to the shortage of rooms, prices are often higher than other countries in the region. Mandalay tends not to be as bad as Yangon, and in Nay Pyi Taw finding a room is usually easy.
Prices usually range from US$50 to $300 per night for hotels that have good business-standard facilities, and rooms are often more expensive in the high season.
Many hotels currently do not accept credit cards; those that do accept credit cards are indicated in our accommodation section. To find out more, go to currency, exchange rates and banks.
